Time for a simple and tasty sugar stuffed paratha. This is also a very kid friendly recipe. I have vivid memory of eating this sugar paratha/sweet paratha or popularly known as chini porota in my childhood. Whenever I crave to have anything sweet I would request my mother to prepare this for me and she used to prepare this for me after rolling out the rest plain chapati’s.

Recipe of Sugar stuffed paratha/ Sweet paratha/ Chini porota

Preparation Time – 10 minute

Cooking Time – 10 minute

Serves – 2

Ingredients:

Wheat flour/ regular atta – 1 cup ( You can always use leftover dough to prepare this)

Ghee or any refine oil – 3 tbsp

Sugar – 2 to 3 tbsp

Salt – a pinch

Water as required ( approx less then half cup)

Method :

First prepare a dough using the wheat flour, oil, salt and water. Then cover the dough and keep it covered for 20 minutes.

Then heat a flat tawa and heat it.

Side by side start preparing the paratha. First take a big lemon sized dough and give a round shape using some wheat flour . Use both your palms to do this. Then start rolling the dough till you are left with a really small sized chapati, spread a little ghee or refine oil. Then put sugar 1 to 2 tbsp in the middle and close the small paratha from all sides and seal well so that there is no sugar seen from it. Then again  give the dough a round shape using both the palm’s. Then dust some flour on the chakla and using the belan roll out round paratha.

Place the rolled sugar paratha onto the hot tawa. Lower the heat. Then after one side is cooked well carefully flip the paratha and wait till that side is cooked too. Then drizzle ghee or oil in all the side’s of paratha and flip the paratha so that both the side’s will coat with the ghee. Remove the paratha from tawa and serve immediately. It taste best if consumed hot. If you eat this paratha after it turns cold then you will be left with a slightly hard sugar paratha which is hard to chew.

Note : The above recipe is a basic sugar paratha recipe. In the picture shown you can also follow the another method to prepare this one. Follow the steps below and the rest steps are same as the above.

First take a big lemon sized dough and give a round shape using some wheat flour . Use both your palms to do this. Then start rolling the dough till you are left with a big sized chapati, spread a little ghee or refine oil. Then put sugar 1 to 2 tbsp in the middle . Carefully hold one side of paratha and turn it over the other side and seal the edges so that there will be no spilling of sugar from the side’s.
